Basildon Laindon Park and Fryerns by-election, 2016

UKIP gain from Labour

A by-election was held for the Basildon Laindon Park and Fryerns division of Essex County Council on 9 June 2016 following the death of Labour Cllr William Archibald. Archibald was first elected to Essex County Council in 1973, and prior to that had also served on the former Basildon Urban District Council since 1963.

Frank Ferguson gained the seat for UKIP.
