Canvey Island East by-election, 2014

Independent gain from Canvey Island Independents

A by-election was held for the Canvey Island East ward of Castle Point Borough Council on 30 October 2014 following the disqualification of Canvey Island Independents Cllr Gail Barton, having not attended any meetings of the council for six months.

Colin Letchford gained the seat as an Independent, and will be up for election again in 2016.
