Liberal Democrats hold

A by-election was held for the Whissendine ward of Rutland Council on 3 March 2016 following the resignation of Liberal Democrat Cllr Sam Asplin due to ill health.

Asplin was originally elected in a previous by-election held in this ward on 16 October 2014, covered here.

Kevin Thomas held the seat for the Liberal Democrats.
