Labour hold

A by-election was held for the Hackney Central ward of Hackney London Borough Council on 21 July 2016 following the resignation of Labour Cllr Sophie Linden to take up a new role in the administration of the new Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

Sophie Conway held the seat for Labour.
