Independent Ahmed gain from Tower Hamlets First

A by-election was held for the Whitechapel ward of Tower Hamlets London Borough Council on 1 December 2016 following the disqualification of Independent Cllr Shahed Ali, elected for Tower Hamlets First, after he was imprisoned for housing fraud (link).

Shafi Ahmed gained the seat as an Independent.
