Liberal Democrats gain from Conservative

A by-election was held for the Alston Moor ward of Eden District Council on 4 August 2016 following the resignation of Conservative Cllr David Hymers after being featured in Private Eye's 'Rotten Boroughs' section (link).

Thomas Sheriff gained the seat for the Liberal Democrats.
