A by-election was held for the Riverside ward of Liverpool City Council on 5 July 2012 following the election of Labour Cllr Joe Anderson as Mayor of Liverpool.

Heather Wood held the seat for Labour.

A later by-election was held in Riverside ward on 5 December 2013.
