Carfax by-election, 2014

Labour hold

A by-election was held for the Carfax ward of Oxford City Council on 4 September 2014 following the resignation of Labour Cllr Anne-Marie Canning for personal reasons.

Labour were criticised for calling the by-election in this largely student ward during university holidays, and the subsequent crash in turnout.

Alex Hollingsworth held the seat for Labour as a Labour Co-operative candidate.
