Conservative gain from UKIP

A by-election was held for the Westexe ward of Mid Devon District Council on 14 September 2017 following the resignation of Independent Cllr Jonathan Leslie Smith, originally elected for UKIP.

Anthony James Bush gained the seat for the Conservatives.
