Studley with Sambourne by-election, 2016

Liberal Democrats gain from Conservative

A by-election was held for the Studley with Sambourne ward of Stratford on Avon District Council on 25 February 2016 following the resignation of Conservative Cllr Nicholas Moon due to 'frustration' with the council.

However, after the Conservatives selected his previous Liberal Democrat opponent from 2015, Paul Beaman, as their candidate, Moon declared himself an Independent candidate to stand for re-election saying that Beaman's candidature was 'morally reprehensible.

Hazel Wright gained the seat for the Liberal Democrats.
